  A direct cable connection creates a link between the input/output (I/O) ports of two computers using a single cable rather than a modem or other interface device. In most cases, direct cable connections are established with null modem cables.

  Step 1: Select one as the host, click "Start" → "Programs" → "Accessories" → "Communications" → "Direct Cable Connection" in Windows, then the setup wizard will pop up, select the host option button;

  Step 2: The computer will automatically detect the available parallel port and serial port, select the required port, and operate according to the prompts.

  Step 3: Repeat the above steps on the client computer, pay attention to select the client button in the setup wizard.

  In this way, the connection between the two computers can be established. When you need to connect to transfer data, please follow the steps below:

  Step 1: Open "Start" → "Programs" → "Accessories" → "Communication" → "Direct Cable Connection" in the host computer, and click "Listen".

  Step 2: Open "Start" → "Programs" → "Accessories" → "Communications" → "Direct Cable Connection" in the client computer, and click "Connect".

  In this way, the two machines can access the shared folder and transfer data.
